Marketing Automation Specialist (Salesforce MCAE)

We’re hiring a Marketing Automation Specialist to strengthen our marketing automation and data integrity in Salesforce MCAE/Pardot—so our campaigns perform better, our sales team gets great leads, and our impact keeps growing.
Position Summary
The Marketing Automation Specialist is responsible for the team’s effective use and maintenance of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE/Pardot). This includes managing and analyzing the system data to support campaign execution, maintain marketing data integrity, and enable accurate and actionable insights.
This individual will work closely with Marketing’s Demand Generation and Design teams, as well as the Salesforce administrator(s) to build, maintain, and optimize campaigns, email programs, nurture journeys, and lifecycle processes using a strong technical background with MCAE, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for supporting data-driven marketing.
Essential Functions
Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (MCAE/Pardot)
- Build and manage segmented lists, dynamic lists, and list uploads.
- Create, test, and deploy emails, forms, and automation programs; coordinate with in-house Graphic Designers for special images where needed
- Assist with lifecycle stage updates and campaign automation within MCAE.
- Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations.
- Maintain documentation on best practices and processes.
Data Management & Integration
- Maintain data integrity between Salesforce CRM, prospecting lists, and MCAE, ensuring records are accurate and actionable.
- Manage lead routing, scoring, and syncing processes with oversight from Demand Generation Manager.
- Create and update custom fields in collaboration with the Salesforce administrator and Marketing leadership.
- Work with the Salesforce administrator to communicate any changes in process with the Marketing team.
- Regularly audit and clean marketing database to improve performance and deliverability, resolving issues immediately regarding uploads, hard bounces, and other data issues.
Collaboration
- Partner with the Demand Generation Manager and Salesforce administrator to align lead flow, campaign tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with marketing agencies and contractors as necessary.
- Provide training and support for marketing users on MCAE best practices.
- Work with marketing team members to ensure marketing initiatives are properly tracked for ROI measurement.
Optimization & Reporting
- Build campaign reports and dashboards and analyze engagement metrics to provide insights and recommendations.
- Continuously evaluate MCAE workflows to improve efficiency and performance.
- Stay current with Salesforce MCAE product updates and industry best practices.
Secondary Functions
- Participate in employee committees, recognition efforts, and organizational meetings to support and strengthen our culture.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
- This is an individual contributor role.
Education / Skills / Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (previously Pardot) administration.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of lead management, segmentation, scoring, and automation workflows.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and marketing-to-sales alignment processes.
- Experience building and deploying emails, automations, and forms. Understand setup for landing pages and how completion actions influence lead scoring.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign data and recommend improvements.
- Experience managing confidential and complex data sets in a marketing environment; strong grasp of data security.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and science education.
- Experience in EdTech or similar industry is a plus, but not required.
Other Position Conditions and/or Physical Demands
- Office environment with regular use of computers and in-person and virtual communication tools.
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.
- Limited domestic travel (<5%).
- Successful completion of criminal, education, and work history background check required.
