Experience in executing marketing campaigns to reach a target audience through traditional and digital channels (print, email, events, webinars, social media, blogs, etc.)
Experience working in WordPress
Proficiency in developing workflows utilizing marketing automation tools such as Campaign Monitor or HubSpot
Previous experience liaising with outside creative, media, and PR agencies to execute campaigns
Strong analytical skills to determine campaign efficiency
Previous experience working in education technology
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Mail, and Google Calendar

Job Title: Senior Marketing Specialist
Reports To: Director of Marketing
FLSA Status: Exempt
The Senior Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop and execute marketing strategies to support the growth and expansion of Vernier Software & Technology in the education market. The Senior Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the execution of marketing campaigns with the goal of increasing leads through brand awareness, and customer retention through loyalty and nurture programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Executes marketing campaigns to reach target audiences through appropriate channels (print, email, events, social media, etc.)
Assists in the development of outbound and inbound marketing strategies
Liaise with outside creative, media and PR agencies to execute campaigns
Analyzes data to determine campaign efficiency and help shape future marketing plans
Utilizes market research to guide content strategy/recommendations
Undertakes individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned
Assists other Marketing employees as needed
Provides stellar customer service by maintaining professional working relationships with internal and external customers
Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduled work hours.
Works independently under limited supervision. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
In-depth understanding of traditional and digital marketing channels
Previous experience working in education technology
Proficiency with WordPress
Proficiency with marketing automation tools such as Campaign Monitor or HubSpot
Strong organization and prioritization skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
Thorough understanding of Agile project management methods

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Advertising; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated success in a marketing specialist role. Experience in the education sector highly desired.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
